Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced CDL Trainer to join our team. As a CDL Trainer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of commercial drivers by providing comprehensive training programs. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring individuals to succeed in their careers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive classroom and hands-on training sessions for individuals seeking a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

  2. Instruct and demonstrate proper driving techniques, vehicle inspections, and adherence to safety protocols.

  3. Evaluate and assess trainees' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.

  4. Stay current on industry regulations and ensure training materials are up-to-date.

  5. Collaborate with the training team to continuously improve and refine training programs.

  6. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for trainees.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional commercial driver.

  3. In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations governing commercial driving.

  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  5. Ability to adapt training techniques to meet the diverse needs of trainees.

  6. Patient and supportive approach to coaching and mentoring.

  7. Able to pass DOT Physical and Drug Screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Teaching or Training Experience

  2. Experience in a classroom setting 

  3. Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other industry technology.

​

Full-Time vs. Part-Time Position:

Trainings, generally, last for one month at a time. So in a location with lower demand a part-time employee would train only when there are classes available. 

​

There is potential for an employee to move into a full-time position, but this would require a steady demand for the location or an employees willingness and ability to travel. 

​

Pay Range:

Trainers start out between $18 - $22 per hour depending on experience. 

​

Location:
These positions will be hired for western/Central Pennsylvania for the time being.

​
